God has chosen to relate to us as a loving father –
so He’s always ready to listen to what we have to say.
Jesus, Himself, used that example in a parable
about a son who decided it was finally time to renew his relationship with his
father….
So he got up and went to his father. But while the son was still a long way
off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion. He ran, threw his arms
around his neck, and kissed him. (Luke 15:20 CSB)
And like a father, God is both strong and gentle at
the same time….
See, the Lord GOD comes with strength, and His power establishes His rule.
His reward is with Him, and His gifts accompany Him. 11 He protects His flock like a
shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them in the fold of His
garment. He gently leads those that are nursing. (Isaiah 40:10-11 CSB)
Prayer is about coming into God’s presence and
spending time with Him… Let’s look at a few examples:
Think about Enoch…. Enoch was 65 years old when he fathered Methuselah. 22 And
after the birth of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and fathered
other sons and daughters. (Gen 5:21-22 CSB)
Think about Noah…. Noah, however, found favor in the sight of the LORD. (Gen 6:8 CSB)….
V9b…. Noah walked with God. (Gen 6:9 CSB)
Think about Jesus….
Mat 14:23a…. And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by
himself to pray…
Mar 1:35…. And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he
departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.
Luke 6:12.... In these days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he
continued in prayer to God.
Even Jesus, God’s son in the flesh, prayed in order to have a strong
relationship with the heavenly Father.
Let God know what you have to say and strengthen your relationship with
Him.
Enjoy the journey to knowing God better,
Paul.
