Trust

Have you thought much about the word "Trust" ?
We trust certain people. Hopefully we trust our loved ones and friends.
The word is on our money "In God We Trust".

The dictionary defines "trust" as a.... firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.

The question is... do we really trust in God?

A simple way to think about trust is to think about a chair. When you walk into a room and sit down do you even consider the ability of the chair to hold you up? Do you examine it first and wonder if you're going to hit the floor?

We've come to trust chairs without even thinking about them... we walk into a room and sit down.

That's the kind of relationship I want with GOD - I want to trust Him to guide my life every day, to keep me safe, and to answer my prayers without ever doubting His truth, ability or reliability or strength to do it.

That kind of trust requires a good relationship... because Jesus came to earth over 2,000 years ago to show us what God is like, because He died on the cross, and because He was resurrected we can have a good relationship with God.

That kind of relationship is nurtured by pray - talking to God and listening to God's words through Bible study.

Sometimes people and money will let us down... God never will.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 CSB

You can trust God to hold you up.

Paul.
