I'm happy today - not because it's Friday, but because GOD wants us all to be happy and Jesus teaches us how to be happy.
The word used in the original language of the New Testament that is normally translated as "blessed" can be equally accurately be translated as "happy".
From the Common English Translation....
Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up a mountain. He sat down and his disciples came to him.
He taught them, saying:
"Happy are people who are hopeless, because the kingdom of heaven is theirs.
"Happy are people who grieve, because they will be made glad.
"Happy are people who are humble, because they will inherit the earth.
"Happy are people who are hungry and thirsty for righteousness, because they will be fed until they are full.
"Happy are people who show mercy, because they will receive mercy.
"Happy are people who have pure hearts, because they will see God.
"Happy are people who make peace, because they will be called God's children. (Mat 5:1-9 CEB)
When our lives are on a journey to know HIM better we will be happy - maybe not happy about the situations life throws at us, but happy in knowing who is really in charge and happy in a way where we can still find a smile to share with others.
Prayer makes me happy today because I can approach GOD and ask HIS blessings for others.
Don't forget to pray and remember we can worship GOD wherever we are.
