A Good Reason to Rejoice

When we slow down long enough to listen and to look around it’s really easy to see many reasons to rejoice.

GOD has filled the universe with beautiful sights and sounds, but it’s too easy to get wrapped up in all of the things that seem wrong in the world and not notice the beauties of GOD’s creation.

Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice; let the sea and all that fills it resound. Let the fields and everything in them exult. Then all the trees of the forest will shout for joy (Psa 96:11-12 CSB)…. The LORD reigns! Let the earth rejoice; let the many coasts and islands be glad. Clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. (Psa 97:1-2 CSB)

And what about the people GOD has put into our lives? Sometimes we don’t even notice them and they are GOD’s greatest blessings to us.

A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a difficult time. (Pro 17:17 CSB)

This is My command: Love one another as I have loved you. (Joh 15:12 CSB)

Time flies by so quickly, therefore we are robbing ourselves of GOD’s gifts to us when we put things that seem important, but really aren’t, ahead of what GOD wants us to see and appreciate. We need to be taking care of HIS gifts to us. Rejoicing is one of the best ways we can do this.

When we rejoice in the LORD others will see Christ Jesus in our lives...

Rejoice in the Lord alway: [and] again I say, Rejoice. (Philippians 4:4, KJV)

Rejoice evermore. (1 Thessalonians 5:16, KJV)

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; (Ephesians 5:19, KJV)

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. (Acts 16:25, KJV)

Rejoicing is contagious! I think we all need something GOOD that is contagious these days…. And that’s a good reason to rejoice.

The heavens proclaim His righteousness; all the peoples see His glory
. (Psa 97:6 CSB)

Let’s all rejoice in our journey to know GOD better.

Paul.

  1. Thank you again, Paul for your timely words. I need to read this today. God is in charge and that should make us glad and cause us to rejoice.
